NY Times article about the gold to be found
in the "public files" - the viewer correspondence
to radio and tv stations.
[excerpt]
Another writer demanded in a letter to WABC-TV (Channel 7) that "all
hard news outlets stop covering Lindsay Lohan’s personal problems,
even in the event of her death."

[a] I've gotten really pissed at the Amanpooooore show. One
letter I sent complained that they had a shaking, yes,
shaking, camera image. As in someone holding the camera
without a tripod. I similarly wrote them when.. they've
focused on the background rather than the talking head.

Dear Ms. Sawyer:
Earlier tonight I watched World News and would like to comment on one
segment.
Your program picked up on the disappearance of Chelsea King and ran with
it, using the clip as a springboard to terrify everyone over the Sex
Offenders Under Your Beds!
First, I suspect that your network gave Ms. King's story all that air time
because of her being a PWG (Pretty White Girl). I would have hoped for
more objectivity from ABC.
And second, it's your competitor, NBC, that has carved out that Sexual
Perverts Lurking Under Your Car segment for itself. There's no need for
ABC to race NBC to the bottom like this.
Sincerely, Danny Burstein
