obdman: He was the botanist on Star Trek, and has more
recently become a kind of "elder statesman" in regards
to the fight against racial hatred. Oh, and in a similar
battle regarding sexual orientation issues.
(His Japanese background family was "interned" in the
US "camps" in WW-II. Both terms in quotes for the
obvious reasons, although let me hasten to strongly
add that as troubling as this was, these places
weren't even in the same universe as the "camps"
in German occupied/German affiliated areas)

Beginning last Sunday (Jan. 13), and continuing for about two months, the Dick
Tracy comic strip on Sundays is featuring a storyline involving me and my
husband Brad. I appear under the name "George Tawara." The story has a WWII
internment connection, and we are truly honored to be a part of it.
