Some good news on the day: the ``pitch drop'' experiment at Trinity
College Dublin, which since 1944 has had room-temperature asphalt very
gradually setting off arguments about whether it's a liquid or not, not just
had a drop fall, but managed to get a movie of it happening:

Pitch drop experiments have been a little jinxed, with the falling
happening while the camera was broken or the like.

The University of Queensland pitch drop experiment, which has been
running 86 years now, is predicted to have a drop sometime this year.

So that's some good news on the day.
