Some good news on the day: the ``pitch drop'' experiment at Trinity College Dublin, which since 1944 has had room-temperature asphalt very gradually setting off arguments about whether it's a liquid or not, not just had a drop fall, but managed to get a movie of it happening:

The University of Queensland pitch drop experiment, which has been running 86 years now, is predicted to have a drop sometime this year.
