There's a joke that was told with great gusto about the Cincinnati, Lebanon & Northern, the 1900s-era railroad I model in HO scale.

An engineer was driving his passenger train north out of Cincinnati when he spies a one-legged man hopping along the road that paralleled the tracks.

"Where are you heading, brother?" he calls to the man. "Mason," comes the reply. (About a 20-mile trek.)

"Well, get aboard," says the engineer. "We're headed that way."

"Thanks, but no," says the one-legged man. "I’m in a mite of a hurry."

Wasn't there a scene in "Office Space" where an elderly person with a "walker" was making really good time compared to the car in a traffic jam? :-) (I guess INFRASTRUCTURE PROBLEMS come home to roost ALL OF THE SUDDEN, sometimes!)
