I think the death of David Bloom in April, 2003 is worthy of mention, in the light of all the attention Brian Williams is receiving. DB died at the age of 39 of DVT while embedded with the troops the way to Baghdad, working for NBC news. He was certainly working in hazardous conditions and the cramped quarters of the vehicle he was in likely contributed to his death. He was always a favorite of min.
