Ah, it looks like YouTube is pulling the plug on an API used by older devices. There are a lot of smart TV and BluRay players being locked out too. TiVo doesn't want to update the software on the older boxes. Amazon is going to a streaming-only model, and won't allow downloading of content any more.

This also means you can't download videos to your laptop to watch offline either.

In theory, TiVo could update the S3, but they aren't interested in supporting devices that old, and there are probably performance issues related to the old hardware.
