Hyperlocal news sites Gothamist and DNAinfo were shut down Thursday by
their billionaire owner just days after voting to join a union.

Staffers at DNAinfo and Gothamist in New York voted on Oct. 27 to join
Writers Guild East of America.
Ricketts had previously suggested that he would stop publishing the sites
if they joined a union.
