I finally finished this (with the help of PBS On Demand).  I was hoping they'd get to the bottom of the "How close was Jules Bergman, really, to being an astronaut?" question.  Does anyone know the answer?  If, say, an astronaut was somehow unable to fly, could Jules have subbed?

Fellow journalist George Alexander also didn't mince words.

"There were several prima donnas in broadcasting, Jules Bergman being the preeminent example," Alexander said in the documentary. "Jules wanted you to know that he could have been an astronaut."
