Thank you for asking about "rot-13". The attached form letter should
hopefully answer your questions:

One technique is to "rot-13" the text. Rot-13 is a simplified
encryption method in which all letters are "rotated" 13 spaces in the
alphabet, hence 'a' becomes 'n', 'b' becomes 'o', etc. Since it's 13
spaces and the English alphabet is 26 characters, it can go back and forth
and get the same result. Rot-13 encryption, and de-cryption, is well
supported by many news and e-mail programs.

(The traditional use for "rot-13" is to loosely encode a usenet post which
might be considered by some to be in bad taste. This way the person
viewing it sees only some nonsense, and won't be offended until he or she
decodes it - which requires a deliberate action on their part)
