Minutes

1. Open Action Items - Lawrence Mandel

2006-10-07 - John will update the task list with up-to-date task
information and links to Jiras.
2006-11-21
John: I did some of the work today. I'll try to get this done by our next
call.
2006-11-28
John: I haven't completed this yet. I'm working to get this done today.
2006-12-12
John: I did more work after the last call but haven't quite finished yet.

2006-11-21 - Lawrence will open Jiras for the validation failures.
2006-11-28
Lawrence: I've opened Jiras Woden-103 to Woden-105 for binding, interface
and import/include related problems. I will open for service and
types/schemas as well.
2006-12-12
Lawrence: I've opened Jiras for the failing tests.
Closed.

2006-11-21 - Everyone should verify and close any Jiras they've opened
that have been resolved but not closed.
2006-11-28
Arthur: I did this. I had to reopen a couple.
John: I didn't have a chance to do this but I think mine are up to date.
Lawrence: I didn't have a chance to do this. I'll try to check this week.
2006-12-12
John: There are 14 in the list.
Note: We went through the list on the call, closed those that could be
closed and requested that the reporters review and close the others.
John: I'll add comments to prompt the rest of the reporters to close the
Jiras they've reported.

2006-11-28 - All Woden developers should review the remaining open Jiras
(Woden-65 +), mark those that you think should be in M7 and those that
should not be in M7 and assign unassigned Jiras (we can change the
assignments later if necessary).
2006-12-12
Lawrence: We've settled on a list at this point. The questions I'd raised
about some specific Jiras have been answered.
Closed.

2. Milestone (M7) Status - John Kaputin
John: I'd like to propose Mon, Jan. 15 as the M7 release date. Dev cut of
Jan. 8.
[action] John will propose Jan. 15 as the M7 release date on the woden-dev
list to solicit feedback from the Woden community.

John: I think we should start talking about the plans post M7. I think
we're getting close to a 1.0. Axis likely wants serialization.
Lawrence: I think serialization is a post 1.0 issue. 1.0 should focus on
solidifying the WSDL 2.0 spec, and this doesn't require serialization. I
think we need to review Woden's status and look to graduate from
incubation before releasing 1.0. I recall reading that a 1.0 release
usually coincides with graduation.

[action] John will post to the dev list reviewing our status for
graduation and informing others that we will review this on our next call.

3.Development Discussion - All

Graham: WRT the schemas, Arthur has asked that they be in the source tree.
There is also a requirement to download them dynamically.
Lawrence: Where did the requirement that the schemas be downloaded
dynamically come from? In the long run these schemas will be static and
will only need to be updated periodically. I think we should just put them
in our repository.
Graham: I'm leaning this way as well. I can also create an Ant task that
can automatically update the schemas.

4. Other Business - All

No other business was raised.

Thanks,

Lawrence Mandel
