Minutes 1. Open Action Items - Lawrence Mandel 2007-03-20 - All Woden committers should try to get tied in to the Apache Web of Trust. 2007-03-29 Lawrence: Neil Graham will sign my key. Graham and I cross signed. Graham: I spoke to Tim Ellison who said he can sign my key. Lawrence: Neil Graham signed my key. I need to update the keys file. Arthur: I haven't created a key yet. I'll look up the note on the dev list to find out how to do this. Graham: Lawrence, now that Neil has signed your key am I tied in? Lawrence: Yes. However, the more signatures we have the better for tying in to the Web of Trust. The further you are away in the chain linking you to someone else the less they can trust you. 2007-04-17 John: I'm working with Graham to learn how to sign public keys. Lawrence: You can get your key signed in parallel by several people. The signatures will be merged by gpg. John: Graham, you're using a GUI. Graham: Yes. If I can find the link I'll send it to the list. Lawrence: John and I are in the process of cross signing each other's keys. 2007-04-24 John: I've figured out how to import a key. Lawrence and I will cross sign today. Lawrence: John and Graham need to cross sign. I will close this action after that's complete. 2007-05-01 Lawrence: John needs to sign my key and Graham and John need to cross sign for this action to be completed. 2007-05-15 John: No progress. 2007-05-22 Lawrence: No progress this week. 2007-06-19 Lawrence: John and I swapped keys. John: I sent Graham a signed version of his key. When he's back we'll complete the transaction. 2007-06-26 John: Graham's out until next week. We'll complete this next week. 2007-07-10 Graham: I've signed John's key. I've got to update the KEYS file and my .pgpfile. John: I also need to update the KEYS file and my .pgpkey. Lawrence: We're done! Closed. 2007-05-22 - John will follow up with Jeremy about the copyright question in the status file. 2007-06-19 John: Jeremy was following up to ensure the paperwork for our WSDL4J contribution was done. It's with IBM legal now. I'll follow up next week. 2007-06-26 John: I spoke to Jeremy last Tuesday. He's going to confirm that the paperwork from IBM's perspective are complete. 2007-07-10 John: I spoke with Jeremy today. He couldn't get a hold of the legal counsel yet. I'll hopefully have an answer for next week. 2007-05-22 - Lawrence will update the news and other general items. 2007-06-19 Lawrence: I've completed most of the items. There are 4 outstanding items in the status file. 2 for John and 2 for me to complete. 2007-06-26 John: For 1 see above about copyright. For 2 I will try to write-up the docs in the next couple weeks. Lawrence: For 1, patent and trademark, there were no results. I searched Google and found no real conflicts. For 2, I listed all of the binary dependencies. The only code licenses are ASL v2.0 and W3C. We need to find the license for StAX. John: I think we should post to Apache WS general or WS common-dev to find out more. Axiom ships the StAX jar. Lawrence: I'll follow up with a post to one of the lists. 2007-07-10 Lawrence: I posted to the list and heard two suggestions: talk to BEA and look at the Geronimo StAX API. John: I think Oshani picked up the API jar from ibiblio the same as Axiom. The Woodstox jar is from the maven2 repo and comes from CodeHaus. [action] John will look at CodeHaus to try and find the license for the Woodstox jar. 2007-05-22 - John will document the Woden decision making and development processes on the Woden site. 2007-06-19 John: No progress. 2007-06-26 John: I'll revisit this in another week after I'm made some further progress on the Woden extensions. 2007-07-10 John: No progress. 2007-06-26 - Lawrence will add a link to SAWSDL4Woden to the Woden status page. 2007-07-10 Lawrence: Done. Closed. 2007-06-26 - John will post to the WSDL mailing list asking about what will happen to the dashboard and test suite after the spec goes into rec. 2007-07-10 John: I posted and got a reply stating that the test suite, reports, etc. would all stay in place. There's going to be a Web services general maintenance working group set up. This group will own the WSDL 2.0 artifacts. Closed. 2. Milestone 8 (M8) Status - John Kaputin John: We haven't made much progress on M8. Dan's started fixing some Jiras. Lawrence: Will M8 be in shape by July 20? John: It's difficult to say at this stage. It may take some time to get through the assertions. The release management cycle will either start the last week of July or the first week of Aug. I'm still working on the extension model. John: Dan has refactored the build to create separate DOM and StAX jars. He uncovered a new bug in how the readers get a model. He has also been looking at changing the format of a schema assertion method. This is the Jira Sriram had started. John: Graham, how are your Jira's coming? Graham: Woden-138 is fairly straightforward. Woden-147 asks to create an entity resolver and may take a while to implement. Lawrence: Take a look at Xerces entity resolution. We should learn from their mistakes and try to be consistent with what people already expect. 3. Graduation from Incubation - Lawrence Mandel Lawrence: There are 3 items left to complete before proposing Woden for graduation: transfer rights, StAX jar, and the developers' guide. John: Sriram has gone quiet so I think we should remove him from the contributors list. [action] Lawrence will remove Sriram from the status document. 4. Development Discussion - All Lawrence: Can anyone understand the end of line problem Dims and Jeremy posted to the list about? John: The EOL chars are different causing the whole file to look different. The suggestion is to set up SVN to handle the native EOL of the platform in use. I'll follow up with Jeremy and one of us will take care of it. [action] John will follow up with Jeremy to make the change in SVN for EOL. John: We had the same problem when Oshani made her contribution. 5. Other Business - All John: I'd like to welcome Dan to the project. Dan's a summer student working at the IBM Hursley lab.
