Hi All,
Now that the work on replacing hybernate has been merged with the trunk,
we'd like to propose that we make first release of Wookie.

Would it be possible for anyone give me any pointers on the process I
need to follow to do this?
Does that mean you are volunteering to be the Release Manager -
excellent! I'm here to help.
It's a fairly onerous process, but once it's been done a couple of times
it's not as scary as it initially looks. In addition, the first time
that it is done is the hardest as the infrastructure needs to be put
into place and the build scripts I imported need to be verified.
The incubator docs are probably the most details [1] and should be read
for completeness.
It provides a useful Checklist [2] and, even more importantly, a small
set of rules that *must* be adhered to [3] (for legal reasons). There
are also a bunch of foundation level resources at [4].
The problem with the foundation and incubator documents is that it is
very wordy and therefore one can get lost in the detail. My
recommendation is to read all that in order to get a feel for it and
then use the Forrest projects release docs as a starting point for our
own (within our own site).
Whilst still quite wordy the Forrest doc is much more of a practical
"how to" than a discussion. However, be aware that the Forrest doc does
not include the additional requirements we have as an incubator project,
but don't worry about that the mentors will guide you through that stuff.
