Hi everyone,

We had a very busy end to 2011, with the release of 0.9.1 which had a whole
load of fixes and new features. In fact, it had far too many, leading to a call
from Paul to have more frequent releases, which had universal approval.

We also brought in some great new features ready for 0.9.2 including the new
templating system (thanks Ross!), oAuth support (thanks Tien!) and the new
Maven jar/war artefact releases (thanks Paul!) that meant we could do a demo a
Rave+Wookie deployment bundle (thanks Jasha!)

On the standards front, we've got full W3C conformance for the Widgets
packaging spec and Interface spec, and we have both Wookie and Callback (aka
PhoneGap) community members participating in the W3C "native web apps"
community.

So, what's next?

Well, we have a pretty small list of open issues against 0.9.2 - and looking
through them we could even punt the majority of these to 0.10.0 and get a
release out more quickly. From 0.9.2 onwards we can also have Wookie
automatically bundled with Rave just like Shindig.

In 0.10.0 we get to remove all the deprecated code and UI, and make Wookie into
a much leaner beast thats easy to integrate and configure with other products.

Also on my personal "to do" list in 2012 is getting some of the many projects I
know of that are built on Wookie to start feeding in their patches and issues.
If you're reading this and it applies to you, then get involved!

Cheers,

S
