One idea I have is to put under a single umbrella issue WOOKIE-226 (Enable dependencies
for features) and WOOKIE-285 (Enable versioning of features) as a GSoC issue called
"Adding features to Widgets in Wookie: improving feature management with versioning
and dependencies".
Another possible candidate is WOOKIE-139 (Implement Widget digital signatures) renamed as
"Implement the W3C XML Digital Signatures for Widgets specification in Wookie"

And I suggest then just to provide all these candidate tasks (if they are
feasible to be mentored). It is the student to pick one, so more choices are better.
