My comments: As a large share of the Federal budget, and therefore a large share of the Federal budget deficits, it can be seen as one of the most important causes of this crisis. One of the most important remarks told during this interview is that military expenses such as production of weapons, tanks, etc. are not as beneficial for an economy as production of machinery, roads, buildings, etc. even, they are worse than non durable goods such as fresh food. Defense is a necesary budget in most countries probably, but it is the share of the budget that hits economies harder.
