Beijing has reserved almost 5 million euros for the project. The state-run Xinhua press agency will launch an international television station modelled along the lines of the US' CNN and the Arab Al Jazeera stations. Beijing has also set aside funding to upgrade The People's Daily newspaper and the state-run CCTV television station; both will become far more international and CCTV will start broadcasting in Arabic and Russian. http://www.radionet herlands. nl/news/internat ional/6133072/ Beijing-to- launch-global- media-stations
