My comment: As the Xinhua text starts with I just want to "pay tribute
now to a man who truly believed in giving his knowledge to others".
This year I learned that this is probably one of the most noble causes
that any human human being can do along his or her life.

And few compare to Ren Jiyu. Someone known by his humbleness as much
as for his wisdom.

Peace and best wishes.

BEIJING, July 19 -- We pay tribute now to a man who truly believed in
giving his knowledge to others. Mr. Ren Jiyu, a low-profile but
outstanding philosopher, passed away on July 11 in Beijing at the age
of 93. Ren Jiyu was a renowned religion scholar, and historian, as
well as the honorary director of the National Library of China. His

Parlor.

Ren Jiyu was born in 1916 in Pingyuan County in China's eastern
Shandong province. Ren got his masters degree from the Arts Institute
of Peking University in 1941. Ren remained there as a professor in the
Philosophy Department until 1964. At that point, Ren founded China's
first religion research center: the Institute of World Religions of
Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1999, Ren became an academician of
