My comment: Obama seems to be an interesting character. He had a cyber meeting with Chinese people, mostly people from universities, colleges and high schools. Most of them under 25 or 30. I could have tried to join it with sort of computer tricks, but I decided not to. Too complex for my computing skills and I was afraid to be too agressive if he says any stupidity. Although authorities instructed everybody to be polite, that he is a friend of China, that he deserves to be treated as our guest and so on. But I have talked to people who attended it.
In any case it was a real challenge for him. This generation, mostly the younger ones, were ready to reply acidly the usual comments among western human rights champions about China. But he seems to be smart enough, or well instructed enough, to be extremely neutral about most topics. He told that human rights have to be protected in USA, in China and everywhere, freedom of religion has to be protected in USA, in China and everywhere, trade and economic cooperation is good for everybody (without details), etc. In other words, he did not offend anyone in his chat. Smart guy. And as usual, he is a rock star. He passed that challege with high results. :) Peace and best wishes.
