My comment: Yes. We all know that only developed nations created this problem. Each road and each building has a portion of hidden costs that they did not pay to the rest of the humankind at their time. Worse, we all know that that their exhuberant consumption in the past centuries and today has hidden costs that they did not pay and they do not pay today. Even worse, their wars and their destruction has hidden costs that they do not pay to the rest of us, not just the economic costs that they are facing now, but also the environmental costs that they are starting to face nowadays.
Also, we know that some governments want to use climate clhange as means to keep their dreams of "domination" alive. (1) We know that to reach a moderate welbeing is not only a right but also a must for governments in developing and emerging countries. Nobody can tell poors that they must starve because rich people in developed nations want to use their cars to go shopping. However the problem is there. To blame at developed nations does not fix the problem. To blame at developing or emerging nations even less. To accept shared but differenciated responsabilities is the one and only option. Developed nations can and have to cut emissions, plain and simple. Developing and emerging nations can and have to grow in more efficient ways than developed nations did at their time. We developing and emerging countries cannot and will not use less energy, but we can grow using less energy per unit of growth (2) till we reach the moderate level of welbeing that all human beings deserve. It is a challenge for both sides of the problem and nobody should dismiss that effort. It will combine selfishness and selflessness in both sides. Peace and best wishes.
