The sound of Jars of Clay.

Only that I even added their videos, chords and lyrics etc to the CD. You can also go to http://www.jarsofclay.com and click on the LISTEN to some samples on the main page. There are 3 songs there. I suggest you listen to "God will lift up your head" w/c sounds like a cross between COLDPLAY and U2. If you want an idea of how they sound like ..being a "Christian" band and all. Remember that 10 years ago, they didn't sound like anybody else in the mainstream radio and started the revival of acoustic -sounding bands and musicians -that gave us John Mayer and Paolo Santos now. Oh and did you remember the "Passenger Seat" band? They were inspired by Jars of Clay too. Jars is pretty much THE band, the POSTER BOY for Christian music that is both unashamed about their faith and strives to create excellent art in their music. That's why they're respected by both non-Christian Rockers and Christians. Alternative Rock was their first style. They then moved on to introspective rock/emo..w/c is a lot slower..much like singing C.S. Lewis books...then on to slightly edgier guitars (not acoustic) then to Blues and Country ...then back to purely acoustic in their latest album. They may be a rock band but they're soft-rock at best. Nevertheless, based on the their live DVD (11 live), the band can whip up a performance of their best concert tracks, giving credit to 10 years of touring and recording. Watch out for ... "Worlds Apart...a concert favorite, despite being a slow song ...is very passionate and very very very very long, Extended jam sessions have always been a great part of any concert. "Crazy times"...try to imagine how they will perform this one based on the song title alone! "Flood" w/c was their first hit and still dripping of that techno backbeat-and-acoustic-guitars style that made the world take a second listen. Ditto for "Liquid" with its beginning Catholic Gregorian Chant! There are a lot to look forward to! Personally, I'd like to see the crowd react to "God will lift up your head". Its really a rocker and a CUTE song --all in just under 5 minutes! So there you are, Jars of Clay.
