A Marine was on schooling in between tours of duty.
The professor, an avowed atheist, loudly proclaimed in front of his class: "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I give you exactly 15 minutes."
None of the class spoke a word. and the professor proceeded with his lecture. Ten minutes later, the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God, still waiting."
At M-minute minus 1, the Marine stood up, walked towards the professor, gave him a punch knocking him off his feet , the platform and out cold. The Marine calmly went back to his seat.
The other students were shocked and stunned and just sat there looking on in silence.
The professor came to, noticeably hurt shaken, looked at the Marine and demanded: "What is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"
The Marine calmly replied, " Sir: God is busy today protecting our troops at the frontline, who are protecting your right to behave like an idiot and say stupid stuff. So, He sent me, Sir"
(very proper reply; start and end with a "sir")
