First, it was the red ribbon, then saying it right, NOW! the "AIDS WALK"
What: The GIRLS, WOMEN and HIV/AIDS NETWORK (G-WHAN) -PHILS. composed of
20 high profile GO's and NGO's will celebrate the WORLD AIDS Day with the
Theme: "Take the Lead.
Stop AIDS. Keep the promise. ( I just received the
invitation for us to join....)
When: Dec. 1, 2007 at 4:00 PM (Saturday)
Where: Quirino Grandstand
How: This will involve an "AIDS WALK" from Quirino Grandstand in Roxas
Boulevard to Rajah Sulayman Park. THis will be followed by a short program
where people living with HIV and leaders from various sectors will speak
about their commitment to stop the spread of HIV and eliminate stigma and
discrimination against people living with HIV.
Why: Increase awareness of the general public about HIV and AIDS issues
Tap champions and advocates from various sectors in
government, civil society and the private sector to show their support
Foster solidarity and support between and among different
communities, NGO's, support groups, communities, individuals and other
stakeholders in addressing HIV and AIDS issues.
In this regard, I'd like to invite each one to ba part of this big event
to symbolize our fight against HIV and AIDS.
Kindly inform me or Rea (Advocacy/Comm.) of your availabilty. We can go
there together, wear our red ribbon, we will say it right and walk for
AIDS and of course wear our orange- WV-Tshirt.
Together we will make a difference...
