I've added this to the example program, option -k, which selects the proper function to build the ground points.

Why option -k ? (I'm just curious :-))

I was out of interesting letters, so instead of specifying the landscape type, I decided that the switch would specify the landscape Kind. And maybe because there was already a g flag, too? :)

Why do you not ask for a svn r+w access ? I'm not sure that anybody have time to watch your code before applying the patch... so why not commit

Yeah, it does put a burden on other guys. I'm so much used to code review before commit that I have a hard time breaking away from that habit.

Another reason is that I'm mostly developping under windows, and that happens only when I have to switch to windows for a long span of time. So I have an insecure system where I would have svn write access, and I wouldn't reboot soon enough to just wait for being under linux to commit.

As for the original purpose of my post, it had also to do with sparking some interest and work in that field. Maybe my code is unreadable and unreusable (oh yes, I coded it in C, that would explain a lot :) and that most people are away on an internship.

it directly ?? And integrate it directly in the game menu ?? :-)

Well, I'm afraid that wouldn't be my cup of tea. I expect, rather, that first the xml description be modified to suit the new type of content of such maps. I don't have the feeling (user accessibility, design, ...) for integrating it to the GUI (preview, parameters modification, ...)

Best regards,
Kurosu
