I have added a patch there (I think the mailing list drops them, so I'm not attaching one here) for one such situations. It changes the way error are handled in lib/wormux/net from exceptions to error code + string. A bit less convenient, because the error string is only printed to stderr. This is an example of a change that might be done to address task 7103...
