Details:
the map selector is counterintuitive because:
- the arrows at the left/right scroll 2-3 items at once instead of only one
- the process is not animated
Therefore, items "jump" around the screen and I am left completely dizzy,
wondering if there were 1 items scrolled, or 3, or even the whole width of
the screen. This is terrible usability!
The (good) solution would be to make a nice, smooth scrolling effect (maybe
like compiz's alt-tab switcher, example:

The bad, hacky solution would be to make the scroll arrows scroll by only 1
item at once.
