Follow-up Comment #2:

This is in fact a toolchain/ABI issue. Android mandates ARM EABI with
soft-floats and ARMv5. I was forcing compile for ARMv6 and VFP soft-floats,
which for some reason (every 5s) was causing an incorrect conversion from
-0.00 float value to -2 billions something integer.

As this could cause other unexpected and uncaught conversion errors, I
dropped the glove, switched back to armv5 and suffered the FPS loss.

Anyway, this is not a Wormux problem.
