Which Gallery are they talking about? Permalinks are addressed in the Codex, though finding the information can be a bear but the link from the administration panels helps. The new Media Library?
There are lots of "gallery" Plugins, and how those work is an issue for those authors. Do you know what this person was talking about specifically? Lorelle
