Perhaps the administrators could use something like http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:DumpBackup.php to reinstall the wiki on fresh disks to shake out all the weirdness that has crept in... MEH> 2. Recent Changes seems to show a bunch of weird characters for new MEH> users. Reported this yesterday via "Report a site bug".
