I have to disagree on the point of home.php being passe. It's still
quite in use, especially on WPMU sites.

I do agree that it showing how to have content *appear* in a subfolder
is still relevant.

Sorry, yes. I agree the content of the page is outdated. However, the
reason for the existence of the page was to show how to have stuff in
the site root with posts in a sub-directory, so I think there is still a
need for a page to show how to do that.
