As noted in the other thread on the subject, Matt just replied and agreed
that something has to be done from their end as this is just too much of a
burden on the docs team due to the quantity involved. They are also looking
at turning off open registration on the Codex as registration across .org is
all combined. This should help prevent some of the spammers using MediaWiki
secret sauce methods of spamming.

We'll get more details soon, but in the meantime, thanks all for trying to
do this manually, but let's let the magic of MySQL clean this out behind the
scenes and hopefully help to reduce this kind of spamming.
