does the Codex Doc Team have an opinion on: serial commas?
that last comma in a list before the "and":

i.e.: I had lunch with my parents, President Obama and Queen Victoria.
vs.: I had lunch with my parents, President Obama, and Queen Victoria.
the latter makes it clear BHO & QE2 are not my parents.
so should we use serial comma when clarity demands,
but otherwise leave it up to author? or is there a Codex convention
for its use?
