That's good from translators point of view, but from
programmers point of view there have to be changes
in the code and some extra programming of parser for
that text config files.
I don't think that it would be wise to touch that code that
is working... anyway some major changes will be needed.


If you want to translate the database entries that you've
mentioned I would suggest you to take a look on
Polyglot, it's a WP plugin for creating multilingual blogs.

The entries in the database are defined for every langugae separately.
For example:
[lang_en]Thanks[/lang_en][lang_de]Danke[/lang_de][lang_id]asdf[/lang_id]
