At some point drag and drop used to work in IE with Tiny, it also works in HTMLarea. One of the upgrades reverted some of the behaviour, but it's all so hairy it'll be tough to track it all down.

Are you sure it wasn't an unlinked image?

You *can* drag just <img ... /> and get an image.  That works.

But if you drag <a ...><img ... /></a>, you don't get anything.

Like I said, from what I saw using the clipspy.exe application, the Windows internal clipboard structure during IE's drag and drop operation doesn't contain the data required for displaying an image if that image was inside an anchor.

I'm not able to get HTMLarea to behave any differently.
