If you want to edict that "You have to run an Apache server", I
understand, but I don't think that Microsoft or Apple would agree.

A small note: Apple ships Apache as their default webserver on all OS
X Server products.  1.3 for production, 2.x for farting around with.

Apache 1.3 also ships as default with the non-server Mac OS X which also, re: the original post, has no problem with files chmodded to 755.
