Yes, I too concur that I find the uploading features in 2.0, while quite
advances, is not adaptable to my current needs and will cause a bit of
difficulty for me were I to switch to it. Is there any solution to restore
the old functions with plugins, and perhaps throw in a few more "advanced"
features?
Thanks.

The uploading change has been the main reason I haven't yet upgraded

Put me in for a "ditto" on not upgrading due to the upload changes. While
2.0 is, in general, a huge step forward for WP, the upload issue is a
huge sticker for me.
I'm working on a plug-in that makes heavy use of uploads and because of
2.0's forced file-structure, I've had to write my own uploading methods.
(However, your plug-in looks like it'll do a much better job than my
hack.)
I know some people have an aversion to adding options to WP, but is there
any reason why the ability to use the old upload file structure isn't an
option?
Sorry if I'm rehashing any old discussion - I've been out for a while.

P.S. To balance out the negative, let me just say that the new user roles
permission system rules. That's saved me a world of trouble.
