I really don't understand why it's so important to have a Zip. what is the problem with the used format? I could understand if you have problems to unpack the files but this is probably not the problem. if you don't like don't load it.

accepted Zip application and therefore it is the one that has been  
chosen.

Even Windows has a built in ZIP decompressor.
