Strangely how does a /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ work? Will have to try out a few post structures I guess..... or advice against naming the page with archives. Message: 6

This is because /archives/2/ is the 2nd page of the archives page (using the <!--nextpage--> tag)... so you have to rewrite rules fighting over the same URL.
