To resolve this issue, I tracked the problem down to the plugin "Author
Highlight." Looking at the file, I had some leading whitespace before the
opening <?php, which I am assuming is the source of the line space which was
invalidating my feeds' XML.

All is resolved now and things are operating superbly once again.

Thanks again everyone,
Rick

Mark,

I took the plunge and disabled my myriad of plugins, even the ones I
didn't think affected the Feed in any way. It works now. I appreciate the
time you and others spent on this issue for me. God bless you for it.

Now, I'm off to nail down which pesky plugin(s) was being the
troublemaker.
