I've been running the latest svn code on one of my little used blogs for
a while, but just really started putting the latest updates through
their paces the other day and I thought it was time to give the coders
here a very heartfelt "Thank You."
I'm among many who have been running plugins for quite some time to
modify the behavior of the visual editor so that it doesn't mangle any
special code that I enter and i haven't seen any of this behavior with
the new version of TinyMCE. I can happily add divs, embeds, spans and
other happy code tweaks to my posts in html view then pop back to the
visual editor with no changes made. If I could buy every one of you
your drink of choice I would happily do so. Just tell me that
functionality isn't going to be modified and I'll sleep peacefully
knowing that I can remove 8 different plugins from my main blog as soon
as 2.5 is released!
I'm also pretty pleased with the new admin layout. I'm sure It will
make life a lot easier for less tech-savvy users, and I'm getting more
accustomed to it myself as I work with it more.
