[wp-testers] TinyMCE annoyance: Turning off pre_wpautop / wpautop in editor.js

Is there a better way to turn off "pre_wpautop" and "wpautop" in *wp-admin/js/editor.js* than to comment out the function code directly?
I never understood why WP tries to assume/dictate the *right* code when switching from code to the visual editor, etc.
