Other option would be to run some js onBlur and if there's no
http://, add it. But then somebody will complain that it changes
their links...
You bet they would. I'd be first in line.
I use root links frequently, such as /blog/. Adding http:// to the
beginning would break them.
Best to keep it the way it's always worked -- prefill "http://"; and
select it, IIRC.
