The WordPress Automatic Upgrader plugin is the (only one i've seen so far) culprit for that error.

@Arman: Try upgrading the WPAU plugin and see if that fixes it like Annie's suggestd, If you dont have the WordPRess Automatic upgrade plugin installed, Then the following comment for Annie applies too:

@Annie: What was the error exactly the same? I'd appreciate it if you could send me a list of all the plugin & versions that you've got running & active, It may be that another plugin is using the same Zip class which is causing the problems.

Feel free to send it off list to [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you want.

Cheers,
Dion

I had the same trouble on a few of my blogs. Updating the automatic
update plugin to the version 1.0 worked on all but one of my blogs
and no matter what I did on that one, it wouldn't work. Ended up
manually updating all of them there.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it too so I can try
them next time on the one that doesn't seem to work right.

I just tried out the automatic plugin updater using
the latest nightly
build [10-Mar-2008 05:30] from
[http://static.wordpress.org/builds/]
and the plugin disappeared...

I installed Akismet and changed the version header
manually, went to
the plugins page and selected "upgrade
automatically" and was directed
to the update page.

All seemed to go well, I was given the messages:

Downloading update from
http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/akismet.zip
Unpacking the update
Removing the old version of the plugin
Installing the latest version
Plugin upgraded successfully

However, when I went back to the plugins page,
Akismet was nowhere to
be seen. And when I checked my plugins directory,
the files had been
removed from there.

Apache version: 1.3.41
PHP version: 5.2.5
mySQL version: 4.1.22
