Shelly, I'm not sure what your problem is. You're not explaining what
you are doing during that 30 minutes - you could be installing plugins
that are not well made, you could be installing a theme that does not
support widgets.
I am excited about this ticket because SBM gives me control of what is
displayed in my sidebar on a page by page or a post by post basis.
The work we did on that ticket is still buggy though. I just noticed
that if you open up a widget and then hit cancel the cancel button it
looses the settings for that widget - in other words it forgets which
pages or posts you want that widget to show on.
The only way to fix this is to stop the cancel button from removing
saved settings or by building a massive array would slow peoples sites
down if they have thousands of posts... any ideas people?
Ciao,
Dan

Is this just going to be made *easier*? i s that why it's so
exciting? because I already do this fairly easily. Automated would
definitely be nice.
It would also be nice if the sidebars *stopped* disappearing when you
used widgets in 2.5.x - is this fixed in 2.6? (I don't know if
there's a trac for it - I haven't searched yet - but I've had 3 sites
in the last week that I've done that lose the widgets after 30 minutes
using 2.5.x).
