John has it right, though, on occasion, a plugin no longer working on a beta will indicate a change in the API that we need to evaluate.
That said, for kicks: I have no problems activating Zemanta and viewing its meta box on the post page, or its configuration screen. "will not work" and "does not work" need to be a lot more specific. I have no idea what plugin "free seo" is, so I couldn't test that.
