To: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" I'm not using home in my menus (it'll be a rather annoying intro). Good news is your last fixes made it so I couldn't get the save to be catatonic but the nesting breaks down after a while. Build RC1-15022 Deleted all menus. To construct menu I: Add 7 pages; reorder; move 6 to child position; save Add Custom; link to http://#; erase link in drop down; save Add 3 categories; reorder; move to child of custom; save Add Custom; link to http://#; erase link in drop down; save Add 2 categories; move to child of custom; save Add Custom; link to http://#; erase link in drop down; save Add 1 category; move to child of custom; save Add 4 posts; TRY TO MOVE TO CHILD OF CATEGORY- BEST I CAN DO IS GET 1ST POST TO CHILD OF CUSTOM, OTHERS CHILD OF FIRST POST I SAVE - THE 4 POSTS SAVE AS PRIMARY PARENT AND 3 CHILDREN I reorder 3 children; move to correct level; REORDERING SAVES NOT LEVEL CORRECTION Add 1 category (CAT X); save Add 1 post; move to child; save moved CAT X & post to 1st child under 3rd custom link; save Add 1 post; TRIED TO MOVE TO UNDER LAST POST ADDED (child of CATX) WOULD ONLY GO TO CHILD OF CUSTOM POSITION save Added 4 more posts; moved to posts under CAT X; save (NESTING ALL WRONG) Add 9 posts; reorder; save delete all posts under CAT X; save move last 8 posts to children of 9th post; save moved under cat x; COULDN'T NEST; moved back to bottom; save added duplicate of CAT X; save tried to get 9 posts under second cat X; very unstable (menu jumping mysteriously) Second Test Second menu with CAT X and 9 post children saves perfectly Regards, Christine Date: Fri, 28 May 2010 15:27:55 -0400 From: "Christine Evron" Subject: [wp-testers] Menu Formatting and Child/Sub Menu - I managed to break the menu again Build 3.0-RC1 Removed all menus & again had the failure to save subsequent changes after adding the 24th item. Could this be a timing issue? I'm working on a local version of the website. Also, menu items are not included in the export function. Should they be? Thanks, Christine Date: Thu, 27 May 2010 13:02:39 -0400 From: "Christine Evron" <[email protected]> Build 14960 I removed all my menus & it worked beautifully for the first 20 items. 21st was somewhat shaky (I couldn't get it to be a grandchild lvl; it would only go in as parent.) Finally added another item above the item I was interested in and I was able to get it in the right spot. Continued adding (total 36 items)with menu being fussier than first 20 but everything was good. (should have stopped while I was ahead.) I decided to replace a custom menu item with a category menu item with the same label. (child position with grandchildren(posts)) Created category by renaming an existing category & changing the slug to match new name. (This seemed to work everywhere I looked.) Added newly edited category menu item above custom menu item with same label and with the same indent (child). Saved. (I think) Removed custom menu item expecting all grandchildren posts to reposition under new child post. Instead all grandchildren jumped to the end of the menu & now menu item moves don't save. Also - if I remove all menus, should the menu item counter reset? Think you could try to break it again, but avoid the home link? (We'll probably have that bug fixed by tonight's nightly.) ****************************************** ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Sat, 29 May 2010 18:34:18 +0200 From: ?????? ????? <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [wp-testers] Menu Formatting and Child/Sub Menu - I managed to break ... To: [email protected] Message-ID: <op.vdg6zgl95mk...@tomica-ubuntu> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed; delsp=yes Hi all :) This is my first ever mail on WP Testers :) AS far as I know, my problem is not a known issue. I figured out that menu items cannot be saved with non-latin (cyrillic) names. In fact, the menu itself cannot be saved with a non-latin name. I believe this is not a wanted state, but an important bug. Did anyone else discover the same thing? But how can we, using a plugin, provide to wp admins the ability to choose between a set of template for a specific post-type ? The solution u gave doesn't provide that.
