Thanks for the clarification Andrew, I'm glad I don't have a glitch in the matrix. However can you explain why it is thought that the Appearance drop-down duplicates links and so is omitted, but the Add New Post/Link/Page etc and the Comments button also duplicates links but are included? Seems like strange logic to me and makes the admin bar feel incomplete. This is especially true because these functions ARE in 3.2, so people are going to be looking for them after they upgrade, thinking they are missing (much like when a bunch of boxes got hidden under Screen Options....that continues to stump many).

Andrew,
Very nice. Thanks for the clarification. If that is the intent, everything
is working fine on my end. Thanks for that. Will plugins have custom access
to that area at some point? For example, to add a NextGen Gallery.

Take care,
Colin

I have been playing with 3.3 beta versions and despite what I've
read/seen
online, the admin bar that shows up while in the dashboard does NOT
contain
a way to access the Appearance menu. All I have, from l-r is:
- wordpress logo w/ wp links
- site title w/ visit site
- comments
- Add New (w/ post, media, link, page, user options)

- then over on the right i have the 'howdy, username'

Can anyone verify if I'm experiencing some sort of bug (or maybe an issue
with my setup), or if this is intended functionality?

Cheers!
Lucy
You'll see Appearance sub menus on the frontend. On the back end, they
duplicate links. What you're seeing is correct functionality.
