Try running it within a command line call:
cmd /c "msiexec /qn /x {90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}"

Why don't you stick to the command using the MSI file - usually that works 
great.

My personal command-line I use to uninstlal Office 2003 (works great):

msiexec /x "%SOFTWARE%\office2003\PRO11.MSI" /qn
