Onderwerp: [wpkg-users] Deploying System in Real-Time
Datum: di, mei 31, 2011 17:06
Hi,
I'm trying to setup a remote deployment using the below method, but I'm having
a small problem. My command is being run from a remote machine on the network
with the following command:
PsExec \\192.168.x.x -u 'username' -p 'password' cscript
\\192.168.x.x\wpkg\wpkg.js /synchronize /nonotify /quiet
It runs fine, and installs/uninstalls the desired software but doesn't seem to
be updating the wpkg/xml file so will try and install the software again upon
another run. Any ideas why it's not updating the xml file? I'm running as an
administrator.
Cheers,Dave.

Hi Mikhail,
As you are probably aware most people run the WPKG client at either startup or
shutdown - however there is another way!
You can create a batch file containing: (change \\network\share to your
details).
cscript \\network\share\wpkg.js /synchronize
Users can run this batch file whenever they feel like it. You could also use
PSExec (http://wpkg.org/Push_Install_WPKG_with_Psexec) to run it remotely. If
your users lacked admin rights you could use RunasPC
(http://www..robotronic.de/runasspcEn.html).
This assumes your users can mount the network share!

Subject: [wpkg-users] Deploying System in Real-Time
Good day to all of WPKG User
I have a question, maybe some of you all ready know
how to do this but I'm just a newbie in the WPKG System
So here is my question and maybe some of you good
give me an answer or idea on how to do it.
Our software group could release new versions of some of our Software System
deploying it is my problem, I wanted to deploy it real time as in real time
you know when the new version is in our wpkg server I wanted to deploy it
without the clients restarting the units, and
I wanted even the clients are using the computers
they will be able to see a new shortcut link on their
desktop and their programs.
yours truly
