Hi all, I've been using WPKG for many years now, though on a small scale in
relation to the number of applications being controlled by it, normally around
10 in total on each device. We are looking at our options for software
deployment on a larger scale, across 130-160 wired computers and 30-60 wireless
(54g on Trapeze/managed wireless) laptops. Our application count will
potentially exceed 75 on each device - I am concerned that the overhead of WPKG
processing the checks for all of these during start up of the computer will
have a detrimental affect on how quickly a computer (more specifically the
wireless laptops) will get to the login screen from power-up. Am I right to be
concerned about this or not? We'd be running a full GBit network to desktop,
and wireless is handled by Trapeze which has blanket coverage throughout our
site (a school). I have been investigating the use of System Center
Configuration Manager 2012, however so far I am finding the application
deployment unreliable, so switching to a known solution (wpkg) has a strong
appeal. Thanks for any reply. Chris
