I've managed to answer my own question after looking at this a bit more. Using the single package example as is:
http://wpkg.org/Java#Install_JRE_with_exe_and_msi_in_a_mixed_32-bit.2F64-bit_environment_in_one_package I can just remove the XP related checks/install commands. Lonney.
